Do You Like Broadway Musicals?
{By Emily ~ July 17, 2008}
I am so excited! I went to see the Broadway Musical Wicked (The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz) last night with my Mom-in-law and Sisters-in-law. Oh my goodness, it was so much fun. I loved every minute of it! The music was incredible - their voices were amazing, I soooo wish I could sing like that. And I want Glinda’s glittery dress, bad! It was so pretty. I wish I had pictures to show you or at least a soundtrack to share.

There is even an Ozdust Boutique where you can pick up items from the Wicked Collection or snag a few of Elphaba’s designer shirts, you can even get a Glinda wand! How cool is that?
Do you like musicals? Which one is your favorite?

RENT… I love RENT.. I’m a RENT addict!
I love musicals!
Lucky! I want to see wicked so much! I read the book and loved it. I keep waiting for it come around here.
I love musicals!! I can’t wait to see Wicked when it is in Salt Lake next year!
My dad used to work for a performing arts venue at a university and we’d get to go to two or three free shows every year. I loved (still do) Annie, Sweeney Todd, Little Shop of Horrors, and Evita.
There’s always one song in each that just sends shivers up my spine and gives me goose bumps.
Loved Wicked! My husband took me for my birthday, it was fantastic. However, my 2 favorites are still Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera.
You caught me! I secretly watch all of the old musicals on TCM! I love Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Kismit and Gigi, just to name a few. Oh the dresses in Gigi just make me want to go back to that era. As for a musical, I have not been in a while. But you gave me an idea for a post, thanks!

I love musicals! When I was younger, it was the only music I listened to. I saw Thoroughly Modern Millie on Broadway and it was fantastic! Mamma Mia is also a fun one. I can’t wait to see the movie. I would love to see Wicked.
I’m a fan of Rent but I also just saw Wicked in London last week. You can check out the post on my blog for a review. Wasn’t it FABULOUS!?!?
love them!
Musicals are great, though I’ve never seen one on Broadway. I absolutely adore Fiddler on the Roof, and Little Shop of Horrors.
And even though it’s intended for kids, Schoolhouse Rock Rocks! is great, too.
I love Rent! I’ve seen it three times. So fun. I really just love any musical. . .any old Rogers and Hammerstein.
WOW..that sounds like a wonderful show..My fav. is Mamma Mia and it’s an amazing broadway show and needless to say I’m excited about the movie coming out today..Hubby is taking me Sunday to see it..so excited..
Great blog…
I LOVE musicals! Wicked and Mamma Mia are on my wishlist to see. My favorite so far is probably “Spamalot.” We saw it in Chicago just before it opened on Broadway with the original cast (including Tim curry, David Hyde-Pierce and Hank Azara) and it was fabulous and hilarious. We saw it again without the original cast and still loved it. If you get the chance - see it!

I loved Wicked, but nothing will ever top Les Mis for me.
I’m not sure I have a favorite, but I’ve been planning my Girl’s Night to go see “Mamma Mia” on the big screen for MONTHS now!
We have Fiddler playing on stage this month! The stage and costumes are fantastic-looks like it’s right out of the movie!
How fun! I love musicals! My favorites are probably Les Mis, Sweeney Todd and Phantom.
My husband surprised me with trip to NYC for my Christmas present. We had perfect seats to Wicked on the 10th row. It was wonderful. I knew the music by heart and lip synced the entire musical. We are going back to NYC on Monday to take my children for their Broadway debut…Wicked…we couldn’t NOT go!
In April I traveled with my daughter’s arts school to a jazz choir competition in Anaheim, CA. While there, we saw the Wicked play in Hollywood. What an incredible story! I absolutely loved it. My daughter (15) was so inspired that she and two friends (also on the trip) put together their own version of Defying Gravity and performed it at a local battle of the bands the following weekend.
