Create a Princess Tutu
April 30, 2008 by Emily · 9 Comments
For the princesses in your life. If you love little tutus as much as I do, you are going to love this project. They are so cute and simple to make and will save you some mula too!

These cute little tutu pictures and directions come from this link: Go Photography. Enjoy!
Step 1:
Measure the length you would like the tutu tulle (the light-weight fine netting fabric you will use) and when cutting your tulle stripes - double that length. So, if you need it to be about 14 inches long, cut 28 inch strips in the colors you like. (Example colors: Purple and Pink).
Step 2:
Then tie the tulle around your elastic. (Be sure to stay consistent when tying each strip of tulle). Like so:

Purple tulle going around the elastic.

Tying it tight.

Finished with one!
Tie on as many tulle strips as you wish. The key: do not tie them too tight first since this may stretch out the elastic and will make it harder to fix later. Once you have tied on all of the tulle strips and they are positioned just how you like them, then tighten them up.
If you decide to make your own tutu, send us your pictures and we’ll post them up!! Have fun!

Ultra Sabers
April 28, 2008 by Emily · Leave a Comment
A few weeks ago, I was visiting my mom and met a few of her neighbors. They just happened to be the creators and business owners of Ultra Sabers. If you have children who love Star Wars, (or if you are a Star Wars lover yourself) you will probably like these.
They are so cool! We have a little one for my son Logan, and he is totally entertained by it! They are built well so that your kids can play with them like real light saber swords for real play combat!
They are made with a durable ”blade” it’s actually made from a reliable clear round plastic material (completely safe, there isn’t an actual “blade” on these). And with a super strong LED light inside, they do not get hot - in fact they are cool to the touch.

There are Ultra Sabers for kids too (they are just a little shorter than the regular size) and they are currently priced at $39.99. They are well-worth the price since they are a step above (and more sophisticated and reliable) than the toy sabers that you may see at your local toy store.
To give you an idea of how cool they are, when we were visiting with Alex and his wife, we were told that Disney had previously contacted Alex, (the creator of this saber), and now DisneyLand uses them in their Jedi training and shows!

That’s right, they are frocks that are so saucy. (My opening lines can be quite amazing, don’t you think?).

For $30 you could own this!!
For any girl who is the Queen of her kitchen (like me), these chic frocks will help you to flaunt it. Saucy Frocks - an exceptional Etsy shoppe - aims to bring out the ”Chic Couture For The Homemaking Diva In You” with professionally made aprons by Erin Taylor.

Isn’t this cute?
A little about Erin: “I have always been pretty crafty. I learned sewing from my mom, and have sewn many designer wedding dresses and formals, I decided fun aprons are so hot right now, why not get in on the action? I’m addicted to fun fabrics, and love coming up with new combinations and styles for my aprons. I haven’t settled on my favorite yet!”
